"Oppenheimer’s Legacy:

Historian's bio here

Megaron Karatza,  Aiolou 82-84 Athens

Overview:  During his 63 years (1904-1967) J. Robert Oppenheimer engaged the great transformative forces that roiled the twentieth century: quantum physics; the communist movement,  and  atomic weapons. After Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he sought to exorcise the atomic demon he had strived so mightily to conceive.  In this effort to prevent a nuclear arms race, he failed.  But President Obama's recent commitment to seek the global abolition of nuclear weapons links Oppenheimer's nuclear world to ours.

"Dan Dennett is our best current philosopher. He is the next Bertrand Russell. Unlike traditional philosophers, Dan is a student of neuroscience, linguistics, artificial intelligence, computer science, and psychology. He's redefining and reforming the role of the philosopher."

Tufts President Larry Bacow speech on the 8th of April - Dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel

On the 8th of April 2005,

a wonderful dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel gave the chance to our members
not only to welcome the President of TUFTS UNIVERSITY Mr. Larry Bacow and
his wife Adele - who visited Athens for a few days -, but also, to have fun till the early
hours as well!

The dinner started with some delicious appetizers and a few welcome greetings
by the Tufts Alumni Club President Mr. Andreas Metaxas, and continued by the salutation of President Bacow - who later opened up the dance with Adele.
Before the delicious main dish (!!!) Dr. Tsoutsos -from the Dental School of TUFTS-
offered us an interesting speech on his domain, while a visual presentation
of some recent statistics informed us about many developments concerning the
University.

More than one hundred Tufts Alumni participated and had fun on that dinner!
Please, check out our lovely time at our photo gallery and
be informed of our visual presentation by clicking here!

Thanks all for coming !

Party on the 16th of December 2004 at Fresh Hotel !!

The reFreshing Party of Tufts Club Greece on December 16th 2004 had great success. More than a hundred Tufts alumni showed up and had a great time enjoying the drinks and appetisers that were offered. Andreas' ballons decorated the place and the Tufts Daily, Tufts magazine and Tufts rear car window stickers were offered to the alumni. Alumni graduation years ranged from 1980's and up to recent graduates of 2004! After having interesting and fun conversations, dancing and eating with tufts tissues, the alumni broke the party up at around 1a.m. - all waiting for the next one coming up!
